Mike Bennett
Attorney Michael T. Bennett, Jr., is the principal of the Bennett Law Group, a trial firm dedicated to the representation of individuals who have suffered injuries and death due to the negligence of others.
Mike comes from a family of lawyers and judges, including his father, grandfather, uncle, two great-uncles, and a cousin, all of whom practiced law here in the state of Georgia.
From early in his childhood, Mike was tutored on the intricacies of the law as the family regularly discussed historical cases, as well as those cases handled by their personal law firms. With the law obviously in his blood, Mike was drawn to law school after graduating from the University of Georgia. He began working for the family firm while still in law school, and with his career path firmly set, chose to accelerate his studies and completed the typical three years of law school in only two years. However, this extremely fast attack on law school did not hurt his studies as he still graduated with magna cum laude honors and in the top five of his class.
Over the years his family members practiced in various areas of the law, including government, criminal, bankruptcy and business law, but Mike always wanted to represent individuals who were injured or wronged by the negligence of others and chose to focus on personal injury and wrongful death civil litigation. After a number of years working in the family personal injury law firm while in school and after graduation, Mike decided to learn how the “other side” worked and decided to go to work for a large defense firm that represented large insurance companies and big businesses.
Working for the defense gave Mike great insight into the strategies and inner workings of the insurance companies and businesses, but within a few years he was ready to follow his heart and return to working for individuals to get them the compensation they are entitled to when they are injured due to the negligence of others. Mike then opened his own personal injury and wrongful death firm in 2005. That young firm has now grown into the Bennett Law Group.
Since beginning his career more than fifteen years ago, Mr. Bennett has represented clients in a variety of specialties, including all types of motor vehicle accidents (such as cars, tractor-trailers, motorcycles, buses, boats, and RVs); other roadway injuries to bicyclists and pedestrians, as well as injuries on business property, such as slip and falls, falling merchandise, negligent security, and physical assaults.
In addition to extensive experience in these types of cases, Mike Bennett has also developed unique specialties in the areas of elevator/escalator injuries, persons injured at Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport, and in medical malpractice cases, including failure to diagnose cancer and nursing home abuse.
